Does anyone have an AMD card and not use Adrenaline?

Ive been playing Lords of the fallen recently and its the first game that hasnt shown up in the gaming section of adrenline. It also runs so much better than previous games that Ive played that are recognised. There hasnt been any of the micropause/stutters that i get in games than run through adrenaline.

Im thinking about deleting Adrenaline and using afterburner for undervolting and overclocking, but just wondering if theres any reason that i should be keeping it?

Well apparently its not so easy to get rid of the adrenalin software. When you uninstall it, the drivers are removed as well. So does that mean I wont have a display on screen until the drivers are downloaded again?

Yes you uninstall the package you originally installed so that includes the drivers and the Adrenaline software, you just reinstall using the same download but choose the the driver only option.

You'll have a display using the basic windows driver until you install the AMD driver, it'll just default to a lower resolution

Games definitely seem to be running smoother without it so far.
This is the reason I don't install the bloatware, I can easily overclock / undervolt with Afterburner and don't need any other software messing with my game settings or adding unnecessary fluff that may or may not be game compatible. I've had problems with games in the past where the fix was to remove Adrenaline, so I just don't bother installing it now.

But it isn't unnecessary fluff. How do you do rsr or fluid frames or ris, etc? How do you set image scaling or other things for display? Not come across any game where adrenaline was an issue. All seems very odd to me.

Definitely.

The only slight performance penalty (and it's almost immeasurable in most cases) is the Performance metric logging - but you can just turn it off. Same as you can turn off the in-game overlay, system tray menu, hotkeys and almost every aspect of it (whilst still retaining the option to use the features that you do want, e.g. enhanced sync, radeon chill, anti-lag, gpu scaling etc that you can't do without Adrenaline)

Yeah doesn't make sense to me either. Also if you are going to get issues then surely its most likely to occur when using third party software such as Afterburner than with the software that's designed to work together as a package.

Which gpus are you guys running that aren't using Adrenaline?

All my games from today (18/09/2024) crash now. Never had any problems with NVIDIA but changed to AMD, now all I have is problems and issues. I have a 6700xt 12GB, Ryzen 7 5800x and 33gb RAM. Rating my hair out! I just want to play games.

Hi, what troubleshooting have you performed? Did you DDU Nvidia drivers before moving to AMD card? Is your CPU and Memory stable or overclocked (i.e. EXPO)? How old is your PSU? Have you tried checking via SFC and DISM that Windows is in good health? Are your GPU, Chipset drivers and BIOS up-to-date? Does the Event Log offer any help?

Thanks.
