I've always just installed the full Catalyst package but in my quest to get Fallout 3 working on my 6950 I decided just to install the driver this time.

Thinking about it I've probabaly only ever used the CCC to force Vsync on in a game that didn't have it as an option.

Am I missing out on anything by not installing the full CCC package?

err well I install it;
- easy to switch using hdmi to watch stuff on tv
- overclock in ccc
- check temps, fan speed etc in ccc
- hmmm seems decent enough

I know what you mean thou; I used to not use the ccc and just the drivers (way back) - but I sort of like the ccc now.

Yep CCC is great and has improved a lot from the early builds of it. You do a whole host of stuff, control image quality levels, some basic overclocking but most important you can increase or decrease the power slider.

Hmmm. I've been using Trixx to OC and had the overdrive option turned off in the CCC because it makes it do weird stuff.

When using Windows 7 you can use Win + P to swap to your external TV, I find this incredibly useful, although the naming is a bit off - my PC monitors (both of them) are under "Projector Only" and my TV "Computer Only". But as long as you know the names, it works perfect.

As for CCC, I have it installed, but I never use it. I used to need to it mess about with the HDMI overdrive options to make the picture on the TV look okay but it seems to have sorted itself now.
