AMD have silently reduced the UK prices of the Ryzen 7 lineup

Until yesterday the exchange rate really hasn't shifted that much since Ryzen launch so I don't think that tells the whole story. The new pricing must have been agreed prior to yesterday when sterling was trading around ~$1.25 and has been standard throughout Ryzen's life. Even picking the worst case scenario of a very short-lived blip under $1.21 in January and assuming that was the point the decided Ryzen pricing, compared with the maximum peak before yesterday of $1.26 that still represents less than a 5% shift.

As mentioned there is doubtless a degree of hedging but I would put this more down to standard initial hike of new tech price on launch to cream money from the early adopters before dropping back slightly.

Did it effect the R5's too, cause I just jumped on the chance to grab two R5 1600's for £180.odd for our latest Dev builds, the two 1700's I got a re stinkers at OC'ing. :(

OH, any recommendations on the B350 boards btw? Need one with 4 RAM slots as I've got 32GB (4x8GB's) 3466MHz stuff to test with it.

You don't get 4 dimms running at anything close to 3466mhz at the moment.

Are they the G Skills FA-3466-C16 kits?

I wasn't expecting to get 3466, I'd hope for 3200 at best tbh. They are Corsair LPX modules C15 or C16, can't remember will check once they arrive, but if I can't get these working I'll just buy 2x 16GB modules instead for each unit, hopefully the price won't go up too much!

I need to get them built and in test by next Friday, so only have a few days to play with them and get the OC's stable too, only managed 3.8GHz on the R7 1700's and that was on Taichi boards, hopefully newer batches will get better with time.

I have the above mentioned G Skill kit and the best I can run 16GB is 2933 currently, but there's plenty of people getting 3200.

It's the final stages of memory training not passing consistently on all dimms this^^

I agree leave price fix issues. Especially memory.

Hey 8 Pack, for you 1600 overclocks do you only adjust the vcore or a bunch of voltage settings?
I tried 3.9 last night with 1.4v and it seemed stable in benches and gaming but crashed in OCCT linpack.
Tbh I could prob leave it as is as I don't really do anything that would stress it in real usage like that, but it's a good learning exercise to get proper stability if nothing else.
Cheers

I am not testing avx stability. Just real usage. I tried prime non AVX blend and real bench for stability and temp testing.
