So i have decided to upgrade my video card a little sooner than i would normally.
Normally i wait till the high end stuff drops in price to approx 50% of its original meaning i normally have a video card 2 series back from the current offerrings.
However i have set my self a budget of around £200 - £250 and have decided to upgrade a little sooner than i would normally.
The main criteria is it must have consistant fps on SW:TOR with all the settings fully loaded.
I do also play a few other FPS but SW:TOR is my main game.
so far ive been looking at the 6950/6970 series as they seem to be going for around the £120 in MM
However i dont mind paying a little extra to get a brand new never used video card so that also brings in the 7870 series and some of the cheaper 7950's
I am also willing to consider cards from nvida also but it would depend on the (bob effect Bang for Buck) i have used nvida up untill i got the 5870 but i find they run quite hot and requrie extra cooling so therfore extra noise. As my pc is now in my bedroom and i play whilst my partner is sleeping i need to consider the amount of fan noise being produced now
My main system is water cooled so im not obversed at installing a WB on the video card but in saying that i dont want to be paying £250 for a video card only to find out i need to pay £100+ to get a wb for it to reduce the noise.
