So the 8800M is the replacement for the 7700M, the 8700M is the replacement for the 7600M/7500M and the 8600M is the replacement for the 7400M. Way to keep the numbering scheme consistent AMD >.>

The odd thing is that the are two 8x00 series above the 8800M series, what are they planning there? the 8900M and the 81000M/8X00M? lol
 
It looks like the low end discrete cards will finally be GCN based too I suspect.
I wonder if the next AMD IGPs will have 384 GCN shaders??

GCN Architecture is the way forward, we seen it with the 79xx series,& the improved Catalyst drivers, but it has taken time to mature.
AMD has finally got into it's stride now with GNC, & we will the benefits in the next generation of cards, both mobile & desktop.
