Amd hiring a Cpu engineer to enhance there Gpu Drivers.

This is a step in the right direction as nvidia gained some nice performance from doing this. I wonder if they have already started on this and this is one of the reasons that the new driver is taking so long.

Aren't AMD drivers on par with nvidia these days or even better I've noticed people in the AMD drivers thread say.

Amd drivers have been good for a while now. The main gripe atm is having to wait so long on this new driver. If this improves cpu utilization and Gpu performance then it's all good.

I think they need more than one person doing this. R&D cutbacks really starting to show?

You could look at it this way. They might be adding one more to a team already working on it.
