With Ampere Nvidia GPU's at the backbone of the latest bitcoin mining gold rush and RDNA2 not performing well for mining unlike Vega. I propose it is in fact AMD that's the savior of PC gaming in 2021 not Nvidia... For those stubborn folks who never consider giving AMD GPU's a chance and hold out for a Ampere card YOU have only got YOURSELF to blame for not having a new generation graphics card. Considering OCUK has had Big Navi in stock multiple times. Those still with green eyes who's fault is it that you were stubborn? There is a number of us here happily enjoying our Big Navi's that we got from OCUK while we see threads posted about "gpu Apocalypse, gpu unavailability, it's only going to get worse blablabla" and we sit here with glee and a big smirk on our face while we stare at our Big Navi and enjoy the latest games at 4k resolutions on our Big Navi's.

So thank you OCUK. Thank you AMD. :D

Haha lol AMD had the chance to really capitalise and grab market share from Nvidia this time around but instead they chose to prioritise consoles which is understandable.

AMD GPU's are just as hard to get ahold of as Nvidia ones

I don't think it's so much a case of not wanting to go AMD, one of the issues here is high retail prices, well over MSRP!
If prices were kept to near launch prices then a lot more people would be buying them.

No the whole market is badly damaged at the moment neither company are able to supply enough gpu’s to cover demand which is why we are seeing these ridiculous prices.

If you don’t need a gpu you are in a great position as you are able pass on the opportunity to be ripped off.

lol? where can i find AMD RX6000 GPUs in stock?
Or more importantly...in stock and at MSRP?
AMD has ballsed it up as badly as nvidia has, this round

I guess so... Only a few hundred of us with them here at OCUK forums. We snapped at them while we had a chance because we saw the wood through the trees knew the GPU stock situation for Ampere was not going to improve anytime soon.

I propose those still holding out for a Nvidia card are hypnotized under the delusion that Nvidia GPU's are still significantly better than AMD which they aren't anymore and AMD will most likely overtake NVIDIA within the next 2 generations just like they did with Intel.

Sorry fella but this is coming across as a troll thread. I have had considerably more notifications for nvidia gpus than amd gpus. This is not about who is better no one outside of scalpers and retailers are winning at the minute.

I think these points are a little unfair.

People snapped AMD up just like Nvidia because of FOMO - especially after the 3080 queue fiasco. In regards to being hypnotized I think you're right that AMD may pull ahead in years to come but right now, both the 6800XT and 3080 are fine cards and perform just as well as eachother (Ray traying excluded for now). This is coming from an owner of both.

The FOMO was justified it seems. Glad I payed above MSRP to OCUK to secure a next-gen card as things are looking as dry as the Arabian desert and probably will be for months to come.

while my rx5700 is awsome now

it took them most of last year to sort out the drivers think I finaly got a really good version in october
