***AMD Kaveri APU quick look***

Nice, thanks. These apus are only really good for 720p really I think with the limited bandwidth they have.

This is directly comparable to the results above as I used the same test section.

Great thread stulid, thanks for all the info.

Looks like quite a strong performer really. Not up to high resolution gaming but pretty decent for what it is!

Same 720p settings,

great thread stu, I know how long it takes to put together data like this,
As you have to do everything at least twice to check for consistancy.

When gpu-z is working with the Kaveri, Can you provide a link showing the memory bandwidth of say 1600c9, 2133 c9, and 2400 c11.

Also what speed does the Nb run at on Kaveri in comparison to Richland?
Do all the Kaveri cores hold the max clock or are they split like intel does with turbo bins for amount of cores used?

Lastly although cinebench 11.5 isn't the greatest reflection of processing power, In comparison to a Ph II x4 3.2ghz score around = 3.38-3.50 ,, Kaveri doesn't seem too impressive.

Nice work Stulid.
Just out of curiosity have you been able to conduct any tests with a dedicated graphics card?
I'm guessing by the results that it will still be lagging behind some what as they still haven't managed to close the IPC performance gap.

Got a bit of an off beat request Stulid. Feel free not to bother, it just out of my curiosity: Could you test the 7700k limited to 45w at 1366x768 on BF4 and perhaps some others if you have the time? This is likely in the ball park of the top end laptop version of Kaveri and most mid end AMD laptops ship with **** 768 panels :p

Nice review Stulid.

Have to agree with Humbug and Martini, overall Kaveri is a little lackluster, but when it eventually replaces the 6800K price point, it still serves a purpose and is ok for what it is. At the current price point it's just to close to Intel i5 territory, or Haswell dual core + dedicated GPU territory. It's def price that is theh killjoy here, the actual CPU is ok.

Still I'm disappointed if this is all AMD have to offer for 2014.. Oh well, guess I wanted them to be the AMD from the past and competing at the high end. Looks like those days are gone. Just makes for lack of real competition and boring CPU space, but it is what it is..

I, like others, am disappointed at kaveri. Yes it is faster then Richland, but seeing the 7700 vs 7850 I can't think wtf? Its 2 extra CU's should allow it to do better then that? But I think Martini hit it on the head with the bandwidth issue. I rather have a cooler 65w chip then the 95w chip that doesn't add a whole lot more.

On the other hand HSA, once with decent SW support, should make things interesting :).

Would you mind benchmarking Skyrim if you can on this? Missus is curious and wants a new PC. Any resolution between 720p and 1080p but probably 1600x900 if at all possible
