Hi
I'm building a PC for my parents. They want a PC to use in the lounge to watch videos online and browse the internet.

I'm thinking of getting an Intel Pentium G620 but for just under £30 more on top of the total for the build, I can get an AMD Llano A6-3500. The Llano will have much better graphics but what is the cpu side like compared to the Pentium? Or is it better to get the Pentium and then add a GPU if needed?

I know that my parents probably won't need the graphics but it's nice to know that it's there if I need it.

You do realise the G620 gpu is powerful enough for even the highest 1080p films? Have a look at the comparison between the A6-3650 and the G620 below.

As you can see it really isn't needed to go up to the sandy bridge i3. The big downside of sandy bridge cpu's is the 24p support, which it cannot play 23.976Hz correctly, which is what films are recorded in. It infact plays it at 24hz so you get a repeated frame every 42 seconds.

I just had a look on the net for Llano's 24p support and it seems like it is just like the AMD cards, which is good 24p support. Anandtech saying they got playing back at 23.977Hz, so a repeated frame every 1000 seconds. So if it was me? I'd go for the Llano until Ivy Bridge comes about, then who knows which will be the better.
