Is there an idea when AMD Llano based Notebooks will be available in the UK?

I read that it should be available in June, but I guess it will take a couple of months until the manufacturers are rolling these APU's out in new laptop ranges? So realistically August or September by the time they hit the UK?

Also, is there any idea on pricepoint for a Llano based notebook?

AMD are going to have to price competitively since you can currently purchase 1st Gen i3 laptops for as low as £349 now and a Sandybridge i3 laptop for £399. Will AMD be able to compete with that? Intel are pricing aggressively since you can get a Core i3 370m notebook for the same price as an AMD Athlon II P340.

"After the release of the initial Bulldozer processors in June, AMD is expected to launch its Llano "A-Series" APUs. These will arrive on the market in two-core, three-core and quad-core variants during the week of July 4. A total of eleven Llamo APUs will be released throughout the calendar year, the reports claim."

So guessing late July/Early August realistically. :)

Ok thanks for the info. Trying to weigh up if it is worth waiting the extra few months.

Do I wait and maybe pay a bit more for Llano since I can't see them using Fusion in budget notebooks. I think they will start off at the £450 pricepoint initially and then come down.

Or do I pick up an Athlon II based system now for a lot cheaper.

Depends on what you need it for and how desperate you are to get one. :)

Either way I would recommend waiting on them if you can, seems a pretty big step up.
