so after xmas im planning on scaling down from my 500r to something a tad smaller so im in need of a decent Matx board on OcUk there is only 1 amd Matx board is that one decent enough or should i look elsewhere?

will be OC my 8320 so a decent board for that would be ideal if possible

The only mATX boards are 700 series chipset, so old and lacking features, also they have poor VRM cooling/phase count to overclock.

Actually you have been given bad advice
The gigabyte 78lmt USB3 is a very capable 4+1 phase motherboard, with good vrm cooling and a 8 pin atx and a pm to disable throttling.
It'll take a fx8 upto 1.45v so if you're lucky 4.5ghz or more just it's an old chipset but for single gpus is a cracking board

Yes Asus 6+2/8+2 digi's and old analog 8+2 phase boards will provide
A cleaner unstressed power delivery in comparison to the 4+1 phase 78lmt.
However I managed 4.8ghz 24/7 stable and 5.1 ghz benchable on the 78lmt using an fx8320.
humbug I believe is using a very expensive Sabertooth (3.5x more expnsive board) and he only manages 4.5ghz on his fx8.
I achieved my success with a fan aimed over the VRM heatsink and a newer revision of the FX silicon, which are refined for less leakage. You must have a good air cooler and lot's of airflow around the socket area on all fx clocking.

Whilst the old rules of 8+2 phase count apply, and I'm not even doubting you may have greater overclocking scaling with a better board, simply saying all 4+1 boards have poor cooling and insufficient to overclock isn't true for the 78lmtusb3, it's an overlooked matx board with features such as apm mode, llc, 8 pin atx power, 16 chip vrms, and VRM heatsink.
I've stressed the hell out of it you can't kill these boards, but if you have a less efficient fx cpu or it requires say 1.5v to get to 4.5-4.6 then even a high end board won't help you much, especially if you are on air cooling.

What clocks are you hoping to achieve and at what voltage op?

They are good boards for the money as you can turn off APM in the bios which helps them stop throttling.

Wouldn't fancy going too mad on them though.
