This is something that is really getting on my pip now.
I have recently been given a Packard Bell E3242.
Its basically an XP2400, 256MB, 40GBHD so, not too bad, but the thing only runs at 600mhz
Is there any way that I can lock that CPU to run at its correct stock speeds instead of this waste of time speeds of 600Mhz?
The BIOS is, as Packard Bells usually are, total pap, gives nothing that I can use ( Nothing obvious anyway ) to clock the CPU, so, Im kind of stuck.
I will not be running this junk off the battery so power consumption isnt an issue, but this thing is simpkly no good at an recent Linux, nor can it run XP or even 2K at any convincing speeds, and so I have put 98SE onto it and its fine there, but I would just love to run it at its proper speed, instead of this power saving lie.
