Hi all,
I made a post a few weeks ago telling people about the Nano watercooling build I was going to make for my daughter. Sorry it took longer that I expected! Some parts were impossible to come by! Also the installation of the Nano waterblock was a pain, not because of the Nano... just the first time I have installed a block onto a GPU! Please have a look at the pics below and tell me what you think! I rushed the pictures, however I can take better more professional ones if need be!

SPECS
Modded Single slot PCI-E Parvum Veer 1.0
EVGA Stinger Z170
Intel 6600k with EK supremacy water block@ 4.4GHz
AMD Nano with EK water block and backplate @ stock (Coil whine is present, but it is also present on 980Ti so no too bothered even though it is a little more noticeable on Nano)
16GB 3200MHz Corsair RAM
240GB Kingston HyperX Savage SSD
EVGA 600Watt GS power supply with Purple/White extension cables for PCI-E and Motherboard 24-Pin and 8-PIN connections

Hope you enjoy!

I wish I had a Dad like you.

Great system well done.

Haha to be honest I'll likely use it more as she is not even three yet! I built my son a PC for Christmas last year. He's now 4 and can access Netflix by opening chrome and clicking on the Netflix shortcut all by himself!

When I was young I taught myself everything and anything associated with PC's as my parents didn't really have a clue. So I thought I'd get them started young and they can be computer literate at an earlier age than I was!

Obviously as they are still young I am very strict on what they see and do on the PC's, but as they grow a little older and wiser that will change and hopefully they will start to build their own pc's:)

Very nice dude, I'm sure AMDJoe will want to see this. :)

I think he was aware of the build from my other topic! Hope he likes it!

Next time I would definitely advise investing in some 90° rotary fittings :P

However it still looks good.

But please peel those stickers off the EK logos!

Not spending a massive amount on 90 degree rotary connections when I just did that for my 900D build:) Wanted a cheaper build this time:) Thanks for the feedback though!

Is it me or does it look like it's on life support? Lol. Not trying to knock your set-up because i like it and it looks cool to me but that's what i first thought when i saw it! Nice setup!

Haha I didn't notice that before but I can definitely see it:) Oh well I guess a PC that looks like it can save lives is better than one that does the opposite;)

Looks fab but I have two questions:

1. Why the EVGA Stinger? It's a brave choice considering their Z97/Z87 ITX boards.
2. Is it not possible to get a Fury X under water for the same money (but more performance)?

Please don't think i'm knocking it, i'm not and it's a fab build, i'm just interested.

No problems I'm glad to answer questions! I chose the nano as I wanted a little more space for tubes and was thinking I could get a larger tube reservoir later down the line. And it looks damn cute. Also I thing if I bought the FuryX 'd be lazy and leave the AIO cooler on. Ultimately this isn't a build about performance it was a build using new and cutting edge components and the nano is certainly cutting edge if not overly expensive;)

As for the EVGA Stinger it was the only Z170 motherboard I could find in stock. Now you have mr worried... Are they prone to issues?

That does look cool!

Any idea on temps yet?

I haven't done any major tests yet or much extensive OC on CPU, but saying that I ran Prime95 earlier and got around 60-65c on CPU and 40-44c on Heaven for GPU. That was when there was a small kink in the tubing though, so might be better since putting on the smartcoil.

Also the pump is almost silent at around 50% power and the fans are at around 30%! Trying to keep it as quiet as possible.

Haha - Awesome build and I'm glad to see pics of it. My question is:

What is that white wire wrapping around the tube coming out of the pump (pump/res combo?) - I don't have a clue about watercooling so excuse my lack of terminology :p

Hey Joe,
What you see there is a smart coil. It basically stops the tube from bending/kinking. It basically helps with flow rate... A bent tube is pretty bad for the flow of your loop. The tube that most needed it was the one going in to the reservoir at the bottom of the loop as the quick disconnect connections are pretty heavy and were weighing down the tubing and creating a kink:) Hope that explains things!

Thanks for the added feedback guys!

Just an update on temps. They are not bad, but also not great! At 4.5GHz and 1.235v I get around 70-78c with pump at 35% speed and fans at 30%. Not the best, but still okay. The CPU doesn't go above 65c when gaming, which is okay with me. I can get to 4.7GHz stable, but the temp goes to around 90c @ 1.35v, so quickly went back to 4.5GHz.

In contrast my 5930k @ 4.4GHz and 1.29v never touches 80c on IBT, but is more of a hassle to OC:(

Heh, I just ask as the Nano is a bit of an odd card. It's essentially Fury performance at Fury X prices, making it sorta worse than both cards.

But I'm trying really hard not to pee on cornflakes as it's a fabulous little build and I absolutely love it.

I wouldn't worry as it might well be that EVGA are getting their heads around things but their Z87 and Z97 ITX boards were well... "fussy" I guess.

I would say the Nano is actually better than the Fury... Yes they are almost identical in most respects, but I think power consumption, temps and noise levels are slightly better on the Nano in certain circumstances. Plus again I prefer a smaller card in my system for better airflow and a better cleaner cable management/water tube routing look.

But that's just me:) Again if I were to build a bigger system I'd likely go Fury X or standard Fury, that's if I chose AMD cards. However in my last system (Corsair 900D) I went the 980Ti Hydro Copper route. This time I wanted AMD and decided on the Nano.
