AMD "Never Settle" 12.11 Driver - benchmarks

There are two different versions of CCC, one for old net framework users and one for the latest net framework 4.0.

Try both, one should hopefully work for you.

No they're not, the reason for that is caps are updated more frequently. Sometimes you get 2-3 new caps per month as new games come out.

The good thing about this is installing-un-installing caps takes about 3 seconds, not including the restart.

But i would expect that when a new driver gets release, BETA or not, that they would include the latest CAPs.

If i just install the driver and CCC does that mean i don't have any CAPs at all?

Either way i'll give the 12.10 CAPs a go.

One other thing to try is installing net framework 4.5.

Hmm, I though it needed .net 4? Though I can imagine perhaps 4.5 is required?

We'll see tonight, I'll try with the normal one first, if that works then I'll leave it.

When i installed two sets of caps, games started crashing and behaving oddly.

The reason for this is if the two different cap files have different optimizations for the same exe then poo hits the fan so to speak.

Only ever use 1 cap file, the latest one from the main amd site.

Caps are a quick and easy way to get little tweaks and optimizations out for game exe's. They can provide small gains in fps, or it can be tweaks to correct minor bugs or improve image quality. Either way, its best to have them in my opinion.

Because drivers are only released every month and not every time a CAP is released?

The normal one worked!!!

I can now play Eyefinity again with some decent performance .

This really does sum it up!

I was on 12.10 drivers on my CF 5850's, then got my 7970 Lightning, played around with Eyefinity then saw the performance increase, went to 12.11 and couldn't use CCC at all!

Thank god it works now, finally!

So let me get this right are people saying I should have 12.10 cap 1 installed even though I have a single 7970? I always thought they were for crossfire? I already have 12.11 catalyst

fellas i've been getting wierd juggering in bf3 lately (stay with me) it looks exactly like lag but it does co-incide with me installing the 12.11s.

Is anyone else seeing anything similar or should i start typing a letter to virgin?

No, i'm running Ultra preset / 2x MSAA + FXAA injector, with V-Sync on i hardly ever drop below 60 FPS, and no juddering.
