AMD/Nvidia Together

I was firing as many bullets as ram would allow into floors and walls spinning the camera round, firing off ****s and green slime walking through puddles and looking right at the bullet hole rubble decal, but it wouldnt ever go under 40 this was in a fight too, id much prefer a dedicated physx though, amd world problems haha

haha it starred out a bullet type on borderlands

Doesn't sound too intensive PhysX effects compared to some of the stuff later on in the game :p. I'll dig out my save file if I've still got it that I used for testing.

Yeah there's no real reason for nVidia to disable people using a dedicated nVidia card for PhysX... it ain't great but it is their tech and choice :(.

Nice to seeing you getting playable experience. :D

Maybe when we played it game has been patched to boost performance or amd drivers got better for this game.
I also didn't complete the game when released. Just like other PhysX games that allowed on the CPU worked for me perfectly fine. While not the performance you would get with it on the GPU but defo playable.

Enjoy man.

ZZZZZ come on guys :( i thought this thread would tell me how to put my 460 in for physx while i use my 290 tri x. BTW, i tested borderlands 2 last night with the tri x. i got about 180fps avg. i had physx set to low to begin with, didnt drop below 102fps, then set it to high, physx works, looks amazing, it went to as low as 40fps but never any lower. hope that helps.

Did you do any testing with PhysX on Medium? I wondered what the minimum FPS would be at that setting?

Dont think i did, im all or nothing lol

102 min ( for me, results may vary) on Low
38-40 min (mostly stayed around 65-85) ( for me, results may vary ) on High

I didnt do any editing on the willow ini, just changed the option in the panel

The strangest thing i noticed though, was how much better the physx seemed on the 290 compared to the 460, you could see the physics from a greater draw distance away, there seemed to be more in volume and it stayed longer on the screen.

Going to do a full reinstall tonight of windows, but when i was playing borderlands it was on the RC7 drivers.

Its just not ideal though is it, ive got a 460 and id love to be able to use it, does anyone know how ?

ps: i had an overclock of 1179 on the core at the time, but benchmarks arnt reflecting this so i think for the moment that fact is irrelevant.

Ah right ok buddy, fair enough. I had a play on Borderlands 2 last night as well, after setting the PhysX to high. It seemed great when I was testing it, but having played it properly (i.e. actually trying to do quests etc) I found that it wasn't really playable on my 7970 Matrix Platinum. I've turned it back to low, and it's super smooth. I was going to try it on medium myself, but having to restart the game is a right faff on, so just set it to low and restarted :)
