AMD opens up graphics drivers

I wonder if anyone will get drivers efficient enough to let me run compiz on an x200m (it should be fine but is slower than unusable so I don't bother)
EDIT: Sorry, just read the article and the only free stuff will be for the R500 and later. I suppose my x200m ain't there.

Somebody wake me when the ACTUALLY release open drivers. nVidia and ATi have both teased us for years with promises of open drivers in the mysterious future and I have yet to see any. Forgive my skepticism.

Holy crap. Though I'm sure many of you saw this on Slashdigg or wherever else cool cats go for their OSS news, AMD has released 900 pages of documentation on several GPUs. If you feel like looking they're all on X.org's web site now.
