AMD or ASUS?

I'm having concerns over my recent build.

The Bios is showing around 53ºC with the side off, and around 60ºC with it on.

PC Probe II is telling me 60ºC with the side on in windows. This was my initial cause for concern (and still is)

I've just downloaded AMD Overdrive and its telling me core 0 is at 47ºC and core 1 is at 50ºC

Is there anything out of that lot I should be worried about, or do these chips run hot as standard?

All running stock

If you are running the stock cooler then there is nothing to worry about. You might be able to improve the temperature by tidying up the cables inside your case to improve airflow within your chassis but those temperatures are roughly average for stock cooling.

Idle tempeartures are nothing to worry about, load temperatures are the one's to worry about. Get Orthos loaded for over 20 mins on a stress test and report the temperatures.

core temp = 47 and 50ºC = like the AMD overdrive program said.

I've had to take the side of again due to warnings from PC Probe II

the inside of the case is free from cables - 1 sata hdd and 1 sata optical

is 'real temp' for amd? the first couple of sites came up as it being for intel?

core temp after 30 minutes (the same as after 5 minutes)

core 0 = 59ºC
core 1 = 59ºC

this was with the side off

within the time it took to type this post the core temps are

core 0 = 50ºC
core 1 = 47ºC

OK, I just read up the post a bit and got the RealTemp program.

It tells me its for Intel, like I said.

So my next question is, where in my first post did I mention Intel, or the Northbridge? and did anyone actually read what I wrote before trying to dish out advice?

happy friday everyone :)

well so far people have managed to get you to use core temp, which is probably going to be more accurate than PC probe II. TBH I'd just turn off the warning in PC Probe II, or at least up it to a higher temp.
Also, you never did answer whether you have stock cooling or not, which if you do then your temps are normal. Get an Arctic freezer 7 pro or something and it will drop them to normal levels.
