So Ive just transferred everything from a friends Acer something OEM tiny desktop into a decent case ready for his VTX 3D 7870 LE arriving.

The specs are pretty low TBO

AMD E-300 1.6ghx dual core
Acer motherboard Micro ATX 1 pci-e
650w Modular PSU (not the best but worked great for me for 2 years)
4GB sammys
1TB HDD
VTX 3D 7870 XT 2GB black edition

Now he only has £170 MAX for a new motherboard and cpu and I have found a nice little deal for a FX 8320 for £100 but not so sure on what motherboard to choose as i havnt used AMD for a loong time!

So my question is...

Can someone recommend a decent AMD MoBo-CPU combo for the £150-£170 OR is there and Intel route i can go for the same price giving the same performance?

I am wanting to overclock to a decent 4.3ghz so a cooler could e on the table too.

Wanting to order tomorrow so any timely recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: something along the lines of an i7-920 ?

The maximum budget is £170 ive found a decent z68 board in clearance was thinking if i could try get an i5-2500 for £135 from somewhere else maybe?

Would the i7-920 @4ghz beat the fx 8320 @ 4.5ghz?

Does the FX8320 not beat out all those AMD cpus?

Cheers guys but there is a half decent z68 board in clearance for £35 Xfire supported too I'm sure i can muster up enough for the 2500k that would definitely be the best out of all the options listed?

With another 7870 added later on it will last a good few years no?
