Hey guys, im looking to build a new pc in the next few weeks and cant decide on a decent CPU of either AMD or Intel.
I'd just like one for basically gaming/films/design software(Adobe etc.)
My budget is £150 (-/+ £20).
Also don't know too much about sandybridge so if that is a suggestion please explain :).
Would like best Performance to Price ratio :).
Thank you!

Sandy Bridge is the lastest and greatest from Intel, very quick.

I think that the sandybridge will be my next option then on the new build, ill have a read up on it though. Just so i understand it a slight bit more.
but that 2500k looks good but whats the OEM stand for? Does it just mean no fan/heatsink with it?

Indeed, its the same chip as in the retail package - but with the OEM you pay a slightly lower price than retail.

It comes with basic packaging, no stock heatsink+fan and the warranty is for one year (the retail CPU comes with 3 years warranty). Also, if you buy from OCUK you get the full Total War: Shogun 2 PC game with the retail CPU.

Since the retail CPU only costs £7 more than the OEM version, it comes with 2 years more warranty and a game (sells for £29.99 on steam) - then I would go for this version, personally.
