amd or intel

I think tomsheardware best card for budget is a load of *** tbh, consdering thier are other atricals that shoot it stright into the foot :P

AMD - Gaming
Intel - Gaming, encoding/video, any sort of server applications.

AMD will work out cheaper £ : performance, but intel wins raw power.

Both them are overkill imo as most people wont use either to full potential for the majorty of the time they get used.

Still trying to find games/apps that push my Q6600 atm lol, not including seti :p

screw overkill :P I starting to think my crossfire is, just ran arma 2 with GPUz up and I find one of my cards is sitting at ideal

I m trying to find something which pushes my Q9550, me thinks I ll have AMD next through as it don't *feel* right if you know what I mean, compared with my old AMD system :(

Erm, I thought AMD is cheaper and offeres more for price?

AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 550 3.10GHz £77 squid

Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.16Gz (E8500) £140 squid

I think its what ever you preffer and benchmarks really.

I used to be an AMD fan boy but not preffer Intel.

He means Intel has more to offer, but at a price ;)

Stick to DDR3 RAM. Its the future :)

With higher CAS Latencies...

But it differers from the equivilant chips for each manufacturer. I'm holding out on a new build until 32nm fabrication. I like AMD, but i'm using Intel at the minute. It works, but if i was to upgrade i would definitely go with AMD.

My friend on the other hand wont touch AMD. But guess what OS his only AMD system was running... ME *look around* *gasp* *spits*
