Hi guys. just want to pick your brains over which to go for out of these two...

MyINTEL1.jpg

Now these are along the line's of what im looking for, already got a 750w Thermaltake Psu, 22' monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, DVD-RW and x2 HD's so at least they are taken care of. The two lists are by no means certain, would have liked an I7 with tri chan memory but my budget will not be going over £800 max. The ATI 5770 and the Antec case are in both lists because they are both highly regarded and i want to keep temps as low as possible but im open to any suggestions or improvments that can be done with either AMD/Intel system.

Thanks in advance ;)

Primarily it would be used for gaming, with a bit of video editing/encoding thrown in :)

my overclocking experience is minimal to say the least but i wouldnt mind bumping things a little.

Just been looking at the H-50 cooler, looks great though i have never tried watercooling (could never get the whole water v electricity thing out of my head) so would be wary of going down that path because in the event of a mistake i wont be able to replace the parts but would be willing to give it a try if you lot reckon its safe to do so.

also with regard to the motherboard (Asus p7p55D Evo) is it worth paying the premium or would a less tricked-out board do the job just as well?
***EDIT***

Just watched a few video's regarding the H-50 and have to say im impressed. will definitely be getting one of those then, will also pick up 2 separate 120' fans, possibly the Apache's while they are well regarded.

thanks for all your advice guys :) must admit it's been a long long time since i went down the AMD path (since socket A) and the last system i had was my 1st proper intel (core 2) so when that went bits-up it brought me to this little decision. My only concern with AMD was that their chips generally ran a fair bit hotter than Intel's. i am not sure if that is still the case or not, and while overclocking will be dabbled with i wont be pushing too hard, just a tweak here and there. price & performance wise there's very little between them and from the replies there's no clear winner. But seeing as it's mainly for gaming ill take a chance on the AMD platform.

Thanks again all :)
