AMD or Intel

I really want to get an ATI card, and also an intel processor, but I have been told that ATI doesnt mix very well with intel mobos. Whihch made me ask, why not AMD? they are cheaper, still very fast as well, and good with ATI.

Can someone explain the main differences to me please, and also, what do you think?

You were told wrong, ATI cards are great on intel motherboards.

AMD are great, but only worthwhile in the £120> CPU area at the moment, above that level intel have them pegged.
