AMD or Intel?

I will be using my radeon 4850's in crossfire on either of these builds

AMD - £320
4GB (2x2GB) Corsair 1600 mhz
Asus M4A79XTD EVO
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE

Intel - £350
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz
4GB (2x2GB) Corsair 1600 mhz
ASRock P55 Extreme

My thinking is either of them i want to overclock, but the amd one i could get a lot better cpu cooler for..?

This machine will be used for general use and gaming.

Hmm what would be better for overclocking? i hear a lot of rumours amd not being able to reach 4ghz, why is this?

I'm most likely going to go for the i5 as the mobo with crossfire is cheaper and i found the i5 750 much cheaper than the x4 965

I chose the Cooler Master Hyper 212 as i heard decent things about it, specially for the price.
