AMD or Intel?

Depends how much you want to spend. Personally I have never seen the point in buying Intel as the increased price is not comparable to the increased performance IMO. Get a AMD Phenom II X4 or X6 will do everything an Intel will no problem.
Crysis 2 isnt coming out till march anyway so you don't have to worry about running that just yet anyway ;)
