I'm looking at getting a new laptop and I would like one with a dedicated GFX card so I can play MW2 on it. The laptop would also be used for office work, browsing and running some Firefox scripts.

I read somewhere that with the current line up of CPUs that Intel are the way forward for Laptops however I am struggling to find an i3 based Laptop with a dedicated GFX card within my budget whereas there are a few AMD based ones around.

Would I notice any drastic improvement with an i3 based laptop over an AMD or older generation C2D based laptop? I suppose I could sell my 3 year old laptop that's barely used to bridge the gap but it's something I'd rather avoid.

Well I've just bought a Dell XPS 15 with the 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M Graphics Card.

I didn't change the spec of the CPU, so it's the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2540M processor 2.60 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.30 GHz.

Think I should get the CPU changed to an i7?

I know it's way out of my original budget but Dell have some nice deals atm.
