Hello everyone, sessions greetings ;)

Am new to the forum, and looking for some advice

Basically am looking to build a new system as my current one is getting a bit old (will post my current spec below)

I've been out of the PC component loop for a while now and just wondering which is the best way to go AMD or Intel,at the time of building my current PC Intel were the way to go as they had just released their core 2 duos which am running (an E6850 3.0gh)

I was thinking about buying into Intel's Haswell, am not an intel fan boy or anything like that and don't want to dismiss AMD, I just thought it would be good to stick to what I know

Once again any help advice a brief description on the past 6 odd years LOL would be awesome

MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS N GIRLS :) :) :)

I was looking at the NZXT 860 I think it was, it comes with a lot of room, fans, and dust filters

Am Currently Using An Antec P182B

What hdd`s do you have and do you need an optical drive?

I have 1x 160 WD Caviar...sorry can't spell it, and 1x 500Gb WD blue For my RAW Files before I edit them (my 500 blue is about three months old)

As for optical drive am using some pretty old dvdRw Asus combo from two previous builds so I could do with new ones for my new builds any suggestions would be awesome, thank you :):)

Also this is going to sound daft but which ever I choose AMD Or Intel, am I right in thinking that I will see a performance gain com paired to my core 2 duo

Also the only thing that is swaying me towards intel is I've heard that AMDs newer CPUs eg FX ect gets rather hot, I've only heard this from YouTube reviews ect so no idea wether this is true or not........I've noticed that if you say anything that sounds like your siding with one company as apposed to the other you get accused of being a fan boy :(
