AMD or NVIDIA???

Hi All,

In respect of speed and quality which is currently the best GPU to go for. I have noticed that there is a major price difference between the AMD 6000 and the NVIDIA 580.

Thoughts and advice greatly appreciated

There is a big price difference because the 580 is nvidia's current king gpu, while the 6000 cards from AMD are upper mid range at most.

Yes, AMD's 6900's will be out in December. There will be a 6950 and a 6970, and at some point a 6990 (dual gpu).

Thanks guys, I was looking to upgrade from my current Gainward 8800GTS 314 GS, I think I will just hold off for now

I bet 6970 and 580 trade benches, with edge going to 580 on DX11.

Wise choice, IF the 69series matches/beats 580 then there will probably be a big saving on a 580(if that's your card of choice).
