AMD or Pentium Dual-core

what would be best to go for out of the Pentium D 2.8GHz or the AMD 4200+ 2.2 GHz running an 8800 GTS?

ok then ill be going for the AMD, ill probably upgrade to the Core 2 Quadro in a few months, or the AMD X4, what ever is cheaper

ok im going to go for the C2D E6300, what would be a good mobo thats dual channel DDR2-800 and is <£80, i dont plan on overclocking so a good overclocker isnt needed.

Please for the love of sanity get a 4200 X2 939. You can just drop it into your current system and keep your current RAM and motherboard. Saves so much hassle and money.

my current board is only a Socket 754, no dual-cores for this board unfortunatelly

Get the Gigabyte GA 965P-S3 which im getting. Lots of features and is ~£70 from OcUK.
