Amd overdrive thing ?

New to pc's and just built it all up with a mate the graphics card has this over drive thing does anyone know what the settings should be ?

Its a hd 7870
Boost edition 2048
I5 3.4 37**k
Z77 board
It was stuggling to place far cry 3 on optimum

But finally downloaded dayz so will play that tonight

If you don't want to overclock, don't touch it.

It will automatically up the clock speeds as it needs the power, as well as the fan speeds when it needs the cooling.

EDIT:

Just read it was not playing Far Cry very well, untick the enable overdrive. It might not be getting put into high performance mode therefore the clock speeds are not kicking in.

You can look on line and find what speeds other people have been using for your card, then run some stress tests etc to see if its stable

This worked quite well for me, was pretty close to the max i was able to get out of my card doing it manually.
