Hi all, i'm new to all of this so please be gentle!!
After reading a few posts i've seen that the AMD overdrive software might be a fool proof way of gaining a bit more performance......so downloaded and installed it only to be told by the application that it cant find an AMD cpu in my system:confused::confused:

Now my spec is..

AMD phenom x4 9950
gigabyte ga-ma790x-ds4
nvidia bfg 8800gt

what the hell is going on???
Any thoughts would be more than welcome!!!
Thanks

tried doing that with the newest version(2.1.5)...no joy!!! so downloaded the version the fix was meant for.....pop it statred to work but for some reason i cant use the autoclock tool, so dowloaded the previous version (2.1.2) this works but again still cant use the auto clock:mad::mad:......neither are showing my board in the 'board monitor'.....any suggestions?? do you need an ATI graphics card to use overdrive???

tbh don't use the auto clock because its very bugy. oc manuely using it.

have u updated your bios?

had to update my bios to get the phenom to work....dont get me started about that!!!! had to get my mate to come round take his amd 64 out put it in mine, flash the bios then swap again.....right faff on, used the newest bios F6 for my board, but the gigabyte support said to use 'F5 or higher' wonder is its worth flashing the bios down to F5 version??

no point going down to f5 because f6 should have f5 features included.

what os u using?

Does this just close down processes automatically for you when you start a game? Or does it do anything worth downloading for?

well its supposed to be a one click overclock, it does display a huge amount of info, speeds, temps etc, also includes a stability+bench test.....just wish the bloody thing would work!!

I've got the same CPU as you, the 9950BE, I'm currently running it at 3.0Ghz but I have done the overclocking manually in the BIOS, every time I change something in AOD it crashes, don't get me wrong though I have it installed, I use it at times to view temps and to perform a stability test etc.

If you want to overclock I would do it in the BIOS (personal preference), but whatever you do good luck,

regards,
J.
