AMD OWNERS ONLY what cpu do you have

AMD Phenom 955BE 3.2GHz
4GB 1333MHz Kingston RAM
ASUS M4N68T-M-LE-V2 mob (absoloutely rubbish i cant overclock at all - it was a budget build)
Sapphire HD5850 Xtreme
500W Xigmatek
Xigmatek Asguard case.

Currently AMD - Jumping on the Intel wagon at the end of this month.

Phenom II 955BE - 4ghz/1.45v, very lazy overclock
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H iirc
4ghz OCZ Platinum 1600mhz
OCZ ZS550w
Onboard GPU

I do not much more than gaming and playing media with it these days. I keep getting tempting by a Llano SFF build but it would be wasted money.

I've got a couple AMD pc's. The better one i use for older games and cg work if my main rig is busy or i just dont feel like getting out of bed lol. The poor single threaded performance of bulldozer put me off ever buying one, good predictable performance all round is more important to me and despite 3d rendering being a multithreaded process much of the modelling functions and lots of other bits of these programs are often single threaded and have more impact on workflow than waiting an extra 30 seconds for a render. Piledriver could fix that but its too late i've already got a 3930k in my main rig for the heavy work. The others a cheap media machine made up of bits of ebay etc. Use windows 8 for both. I was foolish and jumped the gun and bought an am3+ board in readyness for bulldozer otherwise i'd have probably gone for a 2500k at the time, if i'd done more research prior to that i'd have realised despite being an 8 core chip the hobbled floatingpoint and poor single threaded performance meant it was a no no for me but you live and learn. The x4 machine is a joy to use, starts up in like 4 seconds with the ssd and windows 8.

- Zubansat1 -

verbatim 120gb ssd
bitfenix raider case.

athlon II 215e

I wonder what they make of my Thuban @ 4Ghz mashing the 2500K @ 4.5Ghz in x264 encoding, And the FX-8 mashing my Thuban... And then there is the wPrime bench, love to see the 2500K beat that @ 4Ghz.

It's hardly mashing the 2500K there's virtually nothing between them and a 2500K will be significantly better in pretty much every other situation imaginable.

I think most current i5/i7 owners and what you call 'AMD haters' had a Thuban though, they were (still are) very decent chips for the price even though they weren't as good as Intel core for core.

Martini1991 everyone knows you hate the bulldozer cpu I'm ,not bothered if you do
Think everyone is getting sick of your trolling i asked for peoples specs not your sarcasm i think we get the point that you are trying to put across you dont like BD NOW SHUT UP AND LEAVE MY THREAD if you have no spec other than the one you added

Thank you to everyone who put there specs on i see there is still a few of us AMD fans on here

I'm not an amd fan, or an intel fan, i like both but have no loyalty to either. Just use whatevers best for the money at the time and i've made some poor and good purchases over the years. Personally find martini1991's opinions to be fairly balanced on the subject but i also like to think i have a balanced point of view. He isnt the only one who has bad things to say about bulldozer but seems to be getting singled out for some reason.

Phenom 955BE @ 3.8Ghz
MSI 890GXM-G65 gaming board NB clocked to 2600mhz

Good little processor and has served me well! It still packs a punch now on most games but i've just got myself an ivybridge processor so will be switching over to make use of pci-e gen 3.0 on my gtx 680 :D

he didnt really say anything in this thread about bulldozer other than responding to humbug, and then he bailed out when it started heading that way. He also didnt really say anything in other threads that isnt true, i'm not defending the guy i dont know him or anything but i'm not sure people are reading what he says completely or thinking it through.

Some people should learn to read and have a balanced view point.
My first post was saying how much Thuban could best an i5 Sandybridge, like the CPU I own.
Damn, I'm such an AMD hater.

What the hell are you talking about?
AMD didn't only make one CPU type.

What trolling are you talking about?
What sarcasm?

I even said an AMD CPU could leave an Intel CPU dead in its track.
Flipping idiot.

My original post was an AMD praise post.
I'm an AMD fan, probably owned more AMD CPU's than yourself, probably used more AMD CPU's than yourself.
I probably know more about AMD CPU's than you too.

@zuban if you look through other threads you will see what i mean yes he makes some points but im asking for peoples specs not a yet another debate about BD we all get how bad he and others think they are

What BD debate is there in this thread?

Yes, I'm wound up, because of you being a complete and utter prat.
Martini needs to go out and get drunk or get laid or something.

What did I do except have a perfectly reasonable AMD discussion, while praising their Phenom II line up.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black, 3.2GHz, 8MB Cache
1GB MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II/OC
Asus M4A87TD EVO
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700Watt Modular 80+
4GB Corsair DDR3 XMS3 1600MHz
Coolermaster Elite 430, Black

This rig was built for gaming mostly bf3 and it's doing well, but my second rig is with i5, and they are fairly similar.
I haven't done any benchmarks as i don't do them because you can look up some on internet.

He's done nothing wrong lol, he isn't flaming, trolling or hating on anything. Why is everyone always picking on bits and making them into something else...

I don't understand the war AMD vs INTEL both of these are a CPU so what's the point, it's your personal opinion.

When one performs differently to the other, how is it a personal opinion?
Although I do agree with "They're CPU's", which is why I get confused why people grow such attachments to a company.

EDIT : @ Zuban, I agree with the singling out.

Take ; http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=22296410&postcount=6

OP says nothing.

Quoted the wrong thing :p
But cheers lol.

I thought we were all computer enthusiasts, not fans of specific manufacturers (same applies to the Nvidia vs AMD graphics card wars that happen on forums).

Everyone knows the fact is that Intel is generally better than AMD for nearly all purposes, but it hardly matters as it's not like AMD CPUs are unusable. Justification of ones purchase seems to drive heated debates in defending what they own against what they could have owned, but oh well.

If everyone was the same the world would be boring, so AMD has it's place! :p

It's a personal opinion because some people only use AMD and once in their life they had a faulty INTEL and now they hate INTEL and love AMD :) Also the other way round.
I built INTEL + ATI and AMD +NVIDIA rig's and no problems work perfect, if i listened to some people on forums i would probably have a rubbish PC.

And both of those people are stupid, one shouldn't have an automatic longing for one vendors products, for a long time I refused to buy Intel.

And on the second part, the advice given on the forums is very good, so having a rubbish PC from listening to them? I don't believe it for one second.
