Hi All, I've recently invested in the AMD Phenom 9950, and I think its a fair decent upgrade to what my Crosshair can take.

I brought the Arctic Freezer 64 Pro, but its not doing the Job properly temp issues, want to try and overclock it a little:

So I want to invest in a much better cooler I've been looking at the:

Zalman CNPS9500-AM2 CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2)

And

Zalman CNPS9700-NT nVidia Tritium CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-027-ZA&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=821

I'm just want to know what are differences between the two??

Thanks

Personally I just wouldn't bother ;) (my opinion).

The 9950 pumps out crazy amounts of heat, way too much. Save your pennies and spend it on a Deneb (although presumably your Crosshair doesn't support them?).

You could overclock the 9950 but watch out for those temperatures ;) I use a Zalman 9700 to cool it and it's still a stupidly hot chip and I'm reluctant to take it past 2.7Ghz due to the temperatures (65C load approx). More heat = more noise, boooo.

i got the same temp as u with my old 9850 which is basicly the same as the 9950..

its the underload temp which is more important.

but tbh i would save up or sell your 9950 to get a phenom 2 they are very cool running, see below.

So my Underload temp is 32?

Yeah I heard about these AMD Phenom 2 but at the moment my Crosshair won't take it not from from what I read on the Asus Forums, unless Asus release a new Bios.

Time will tell.
