The last "FX" system was an Athlon.

Does the FX mean that we will be able to put 2 phenom-FX CPUs on the same board?

So could this mean octo-core?

FX chips have always been single chip systems?

I guess thats what we will see again!

Edit: No they were in the X4 systems too.

Im still going for the single chip system!

FX used to just be there high end chip, which had an unlocked multi. But now that the black edition has that, we'll have to see if they have bought in something new.

But an AMD Athlon FX was a dual core chip. if you found a compatible motherboard you could put 2 of these chips on to make a Quad CPU "Quad-FX"

Yes, but only in the X4 system with the FX-68, FX-70 and FX-72.

Thats what I garner from the wiki and from having the last of the 939 systems :p
