Hey just wondering what the temperature should be mine is currently around 40/50 degrees but when I clock it to 3.7 it reaches 70 and stays around 60 what temperature should it be at?

safe top limit is 62c, most people, me included prefer to keep it under 55c, if your continue pushing the chip over the 60c mark it will shorten the lifespan and eventually pop.

either turn the clock down or buy a better cooler.

what cooler and volts are you using just out of interest?
Safe max voltages are 1.55v on air, i pushed mine to 1.6v for benching but that was under custom water cooling.

Well that's nice to know, I'm at 1.5125 to achieve a stable 4Ghz though I only really get around 50 degrees when playing games etc, I have a feeling this is a bit of a dud chip though looking at what everyone else achieves.

You don't really need 4Ghz for playing games tbh, 3.8Ghz is more than enough to remove any bottlenecking for your Graphics cards, my 955 does 3.8Ghz at 1.375v :p

Considering I'm running a 6850 I probably doubt it was bottlenecking in the first place haha, I'm intending to swap for IB soon so I'm running this chip quite hard. To get 3.8 I have to be at around 1.475v

Lower voltage than mine. My x4 955 c3 needs 1.488 to be prime stable at 3.8. Haven't tried any higher yet.

Rubbish! :p My 955 @ 3.8 - 4.2 cant run my 2 6970's. I get about 60/70% usage from both gpus using MSI AB in every game i play.... you must be doing something different.

I'm using a glorified air cooler that is the original H50, with push pull. It can keep temperatures pretty low but at 1.5125v I end up clipping around 60 degrees (IBT) and if I knock the CPU any it will break what I want it to be at, average running is around 45-50.
