AMD Phenom II Overclock ?

The Noctua NH-D14 Is pretty good, just got one myself for £60, My case as beautiful as it is has shockingly bad thermals (the front is basically a solid 6mm thick sheet of aluminium) and it can still cool my Phenom II with 1.55v going through it. I would probably have one of the stand alone watercoolers as listed above if I had a 120mm fan placement.

Mind sharing your OC settings, im on the standard cooler at the moment but to keep temps down i shut off 2 cores (takes 10c of the max temp) I couldnt get it stable at 3.9ghz though (1075t) it crashed on 10of20 IBT runs with a max temp of 48c. at 1.488v vcore load.

16 x 250 everything at stock/auto. Make sure you turn off core boost or whatever it is called. I run my HT at 2000mhz and memory at 1333mhz. Temp always under 50.c.. I would replace the stock cooler first before you do any overclocking.

Ar my multiplyer only goes to 15x so i need to be at 266 x15 to hit 4ghz I take it you lowered the multiplyer on the RAM to keep it at 1333mhz?
Yeah had turbo off
Do you also turn of AMD cool n quiet? ( i like the idea that when its idle its only like 1ghz 1.2volts)

I have a setting in my bios to set the Ram to 1333mhz. I imagine this just lowers the multi to meet this. I leave cool & quite on as I have had no issues with it although some boards don't like it being on.
