What would be better for me to get.

Currently got -

DFI NF4 SLI-DR
AMD Opteron 146 @ 3Ghz
2Gb G.Skill ZX Ram
7800GT OC.

Looking at upgrading but not sure on whether to get -

AMD Phenom (DDR2 or DDR3?) What socket do they do? AM2+? AM3?
Intel 775 Quad Core?
Intel i7

Either way i want a DFI board as I have had good experiences with them and think they are the best for overclocking.

I will be using 8gb ram at least as i will be video encoding and gaming.

Must be quad core.

I will be upgrading my graphics too.

What would be the best to get?

Thanks,

Andy

i& does rock, I'm thinking about upgrading very very soon :) Phenom II should be good, but I cant see it beating i7

Deduct the shipping as you have a forum account.
I'm assuming that your case, psu and optical drives are up to it, and that you'd like a new, fast, large HDD.
That's a good cpu cooler and fan, but check that it'll fit your case first.
