AMD Phenom X4 9950

Is this AM2, or AM2+? Only it's labelled as an AM2 on OCuK but I checked on wikipedia and it lists it as an AM2+ (it lists all Phenoms as AM2+). Is it safe to assume Phenoms (tri & quad core) are AM2+ and everything else is AM2?

All Phenom's are AM2+

if you check the descriptions of the mobos on OcUK it'll tell you if they are AM2+ AM2

You will find that all the phenoms are AM2+ but will work in some AM2 mobo's
If it is an upgrade from an AMD X2 processor you may find your current mobo will be compatable with the Phenom 9950.
you may find all you require is a bios update, best way to find out is to check the website of your current mobo

The mobo in my sig required a bios update to allow the bios to access the cpu settings. Even though it was an AM2+ board.

It ran fine, recognised the chip and launched windows before the bios update though.
