Checked the cpu support list for the Formula Z and its not on it same as the MSI GD80.

well you need to check it again, because it's there at least for Formula, although with slight warning.

Hmm that is strange I have the MSI GD80 990FX already but does not have that cpu in the list for it.

I've got a CHFV and it supports all 8 core CPUs. The 9 series are just 8 series with a massive out of the box clock speed.

I would also advise going with Asus, don't manually volt your ram and you'll be fine

Another vote here for the Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z, that's what I'm running and I honestly can't fault it in the slightest, definitely the best looking and performing Motherboard I've ever come across.

It's also the only 8+2+2 board available
