AMD Precision Boost Overdrive

On my MSI motherboard if you set it to manual
You can increase limits on amperage and wattage
The Cpu will turbo all core more aggressive
By shoving indecent levels of power to get more performance
By more it depends on your cooling :)
You might get 4.2Ghz all core on ryzen 3000 or 4.3Ghz on ryzen 5000
Good luck with the above

If you leave it auto the CPU will perform to the specifications ie base clock 3.5/3.6 and boost 4.6/4.7 etc

If you enable and tweak the settings - PPT EDC TDC and Scalar you can increase the specified power requirement and basically get the CPU to boost more. It is effectively an overclock.

both modes are part of the AMD specifications. The Latter mode ie PBO depends on how good your silicon is for the CPU to hit a higher single core boost speed or higher all core boost speed.
