AMD price cuts

yeah but with teh manufacturere cuts normally teh retailers reduce cards in advance to make it look good ... is this just amd now showing prices that ocuk would have charged anyway ?

These prices have been available at OcUK and elsewhere for several weeks now. 7850's @ £150, 7870's @ £195 & 7950's at £240 are nothing new.
 
Some of the price cuts are are quite small.

$10 on the HD 7850 2GB (possibly AMD's biggest seller?) isn't going to make a lot of difference.

$30 on the standard HD 7950 is a little more worthwhile.

And the prices quoted are starting prices so we'll have to wait and see what difference it ultimately makes to the non-reference cards.

yes .. but was teh ocuk price cut just them tryign to look good before the amd " official cut " ?

not been keeping track , but liek i said previously , retailers alwasy know weeks in advance when the manufacturer is dropping official price ...

so say graphics x is officiallly £150 - ockuk is sellign at £140

they then do great sale at £125 but tehy know the official price will be £125 or even the lower price they are quoting ... it will look good for those few weeks unitl you realise that is what you will have paid anyway

Yes, most people know ^^^^ that, and that's fine. they exists to make money, making money keeps people in employment. we as customers are not getting a bum deal from it and its a good way to point to the fact that prices are dropping, its all good :)

But current prices are still from the last drop, they have remained about constant since that time, apart from the odd ocUK deal.
