AMD R10 "Zeus"

Screv never look at prices after you buy thats the best way :)

personally i just see the 780ti being 15% faster than 780 without as good overclocking
unless Zeus has better cooling i doubt its the same card
the R9 would match it with a better cooler anyway should think!?

If the gtx780ti is a Titan with higher clocks then yea the 290x can match it as there's not much in them running similar clocks.

im more interested in the 290 and the new 280's which i guess will just be failed 290's??
i think them 2 are set to be price/perf kings (or queens?) of next year :)

R9 290 & 290X are AMD's new GCN 1.1 architecture. R9 280 & 280X are re-branded HD79xx (GCN 1.0), not failed 290/290X.

lol some news site
cant remember which, feel free to call me bad names until it surface again hehe
maybe it will be a 280xt or something yeye i duno

Its more likley the revised 280X will be its own DIE to take advantage of the smaller space, a Hawaii GPU same spec as 7970 would be around 250mm^2 vs 360mm^2

IMO if you are not preparing to pay in the £500 range, then neither the 780Ti or this rumor "Zeus" would be relevant for you...except for how they might drive down the pricing of the GTX780 and 290 Pro- these are the two cards you should be looking at if you are only prepared to pay around £300 range.

I am quite happy to shell out £500 for a card, I just dont want to do so and find that the week after the same card got a price cut and something even more shiny came on the market.

I purchased a 470 just before the 5xx range were released, then I got my 6970 about a month before the 7xxx range (and the price fell by almost £100!). In the past I never waited, now I feel like I cant not wait :p

Very tempted to shell out for a 780 at the moment, but I cant help but feel that if I hold out a bit longer the prices may fall further. Also interested to see what a 3rd party R290x boards and coolers will be like. We are shopping in interesting times :D

Indeed. Last time i ever believe him. :D :p

:p

I did say that I might be wrong, and that I was reading into the answer I was given...ho hum :)

Still, leads me to think SOMETHING'S coming...maybe it's a price cut to respond to nVidia's slashing of GTX780 prices?
