AMD R9 280X vs NVIDIA GTX 770

Guys, is there much of a performance difference between these 2 cards for gaming purposes? I`m currently playing with the `System Configurator` and would appreciate some guidance on which would be the better card to go for.

I don't think there is to be honest. Thinking of doing the same and upgrading to either of them. The 280x is popular for mining so there is price premium for it.

Nothing, the 280X has a 'slight' edge at res- over 1080P, other than that you couldn't put a Rizla paper between them.

The 280X has 3GB vs 2GB of vRam, for me that matters, for others it doesn't, but the 280X also seems to be that bit more expensive these days because, as has been said above, they are selling by the container load to CryptoCoin Miners and retailers are cashing in.

For the right price, I'd go for the 280x but as has been said above, it's probably not the right time. You can't go wrong with either one anyway

mostly the same go for cheapest one , i picked 770 4 gig not sure if i will need 4 gig , got it for 250 £ when i sold the games . now gpu prices are bit out of hand
