I currently have a 7990 which shows no signs of life..

Just wanted to know is there anywhere i could get it fixed or anything i could do with it to get it going again..

Any help would be welcomed thanks..

Are you sure the card is dead ?

Can you try it in another machine ?

Have you connected both power supplies to the card ?

Does the machine switch on or even give a bios screen ?

Do the fans start on the card or any sign of life ?

What connection are you using to your monitor, DVI etc ? Have you tried using a different type if possible ?

Do other cards work ?

Thanks for the response..

It was tried in another machine befroe i got my hands on it..

Yes i connected both power supplies..

No fans spinning at all and no led light on the card..

Yes other cards have worked in my machine..

Thanks Catanonia..

What PSU are you using ?

mmm, other than disconnecting everything else and ensuring the card is seated correctly, not a lot else to check really other than getting it into another machine to check again

Ya i actually just updated my mobo bios this morning, i'll check the card in my machine again and let you know thanks..

Should i disconnect the dvd drives and things first..

Thanks..

Disconnect everything that is not needed to boot. Spare HDD's, CDROMS, other cards etc. Get as barebones as you can.

Also try the card in different PCI slots.

No luck it's still the same..

Now all i need to know is does anyone know if it can be repaired and would it be worth the cost..

If it can be repaired then how would i go about it and thanks for all the help :D

Surely it has warranty they arent that old

I'm hoping it does, i just don't have any receipt or anything like that so i don't know what to do really..

where do u live, perhaps someone can verify it is goosed in another machine before you go down that route.

1st place I would look is the manufactors website and see if you can get on the blower to them. A bit of blagging may get results.

The thing is even without receipt if its a model that has 2 year warranty or 3 year it hasn't been out that long so they must repair/replace it

Thanks guys this was already tested in another machine with all the same symptoms..

It's the actual AMD RADEON 7990 Model so are amd obliged to repair or replace, this is my first time doing anything like this so i'm a bit cluless..

What brand is it? If it's AMD then I guess it may be OEM? in which case you might be out of luck.

Check the back of the card for any stickers that might detail the brand.
