AMD Radeon HD 6850 Problem

Whenever I try and watch a 60fps 1080p Youtube video, it begins to lag and eventually freeze for a seconds making the video unwatchable. However, it is able to play 60fps 720p with no problem. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yes this also occurs in Firefox, so I don't think it is a browser issue

Nope, there's always buffer on the video whilst it's playing

I have 100mb down internet so don't think it could be that

I have encountered that too. I looked up this solution (for a slightly different problem), maybe you can try to disable hardware acceleration.

My issue was that I didn't like the gpu to ramp up to full 3d clocks for memory and then sit until I closed the browser.

My brother in laws brother had this problem it was down to his soundcard or should I say lack of one he was using onboard. Bought a cheapy soundcard and it worked fine.
Try disabling the sound and see if that makes a difference.
