AMD Radeon R9 370 Reference Design Board Pictured

The shader count per that table puts it firmly as a Pitcairn "tweak" though - 1024 to 1280 shaders. Only the 375 is Tonga based (1792 cores).

Disappointing if that is true as ultimately there will have been sod all movement from the original 7870 to the 370...

EDIT: Actually if that table is to be believed the 370 retail has less ROPS and a lower core & memory speed than the OEM model... FFS

Cost, this card is likely the price equivalent of a GTX 750 Ti. Shouldn't expect extravagant cooling, nor is it needed.

For a low cost GPU. This shroud / design looks nice. Expect higher end cards to come with more extravagant cooling, where it's needed. With flagship cards coming with AIO and custom air cooling.

Here's a reference 750 Ti from Nvidia for comparison. Notice Nvidia don't go all out on low end solution cooling either. I know which I prefer out of the two.

Ah ok, i thought it was a top range card, i dunno amds numbering scheme so didnt know it was a low end card shown. I figured it had a similar crappy stock cooler like the 290 had.

This is the assumption everyone seems to be making, "oh it has the same number of Shaders, that means its a re-brand of X" well...... No! :p it just means it has the same number of Shaders, thats it.

I just realized "Grenada XT - 2816 Shaders - 1242Mhz - 218GT/s"

The Retail 370 series is not Pitcairn.

What is this and why do you think it's true and/or official?

Ah I see you're starting to realize that it's not official or true at all :D

Not that it matters, AMD has many names for pitcairn and the R7 370 quite clearly is pitcairn with its CF finger and device IDs.
