My question is why would you buy a graphics card to play games at around 40 fps?
There's like, almost 80,000,000 PS4's and XB1's out there, where the large majority of AAA games run at 30fps. Clearly this doesn't bother everybody as much as it does some of us.

PC gamers really seem way out of touch sometimes.

Yeah I know I had the 320mb one and it was on it's knees.

But for some reason it still felt smooth below 60FPS,and it makes me wonder if Crytek had considered latency being as important a metric as framerates.

Having said that,I never spent so much on PCs as I did around the time of Crysis. That game was hyped but it was such a jump in graphics.

I agree ... averages of 60 to 80 fps I consider good the odd dip to 30 doesn't bother me.
Currently distinctively mid range cards have minimums of high 50's on ultra at 1080p, there seems no reason to buy a high end card unless gaming at higher resolutions.

Minimums much below 30fps in high action scenes do spoil the game experience though.

I guess consoles can consistently pump out 30fps though an no higher, which whilst no great, isn't a game ruiner.
