AMD ram options

HI guys, Im looking for 4x4gb ddr3 1600mhz ram for my FX8350 cpu in a crosshair formula iv mobo, Whats my best cheapest option? As running GTA V at 4K is hitting over 7gb usage and is probably the reason for my continual crashing in game after a hour or two playing time, cheers.

16Gb across two sticks, thats the cheapest.

I believe I can only fit a maximum of 4gb in each slot hence 4x4gb, thanks anyways.

Is that what you seen? if so ignore it if you are using a 64bit OS.

I havent checked the manual either or the qualified RAM list.

I seem to remember that the maximum amount of ram I can install in the formula IV is 16gb If my memory serves me right but I might be wrong...?

I could look through the manual and see what it says, or I could get the ASUS rep to reply.

Just seems odd if thats the case.

Ok So 16gb is the official maximum amount of ram supported but a quick google tells me that someone has installed 8gb sticks so happy days, That gives me a few more options. That's a bit like my cpu not officially supported but has been running at 4.7ghz for donkeys after I flashed the bios.

Yea a bit odd but when the board was designed back in the day there wasn't any 8gig ram sticks about.

On another note would 16gb ram with timings of 11-11-11-28 make much difference against ram with 8gb 9-9-9-24 apart for the obvious amount of each?

Unless your benchmarking You won't notice any difference in day to day usage.
