AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

That's about the same as 4080's that were produced and they are in stock everywhere, with a total of 200k that's similar to the amount of 4090's + 4080's

Next quarters market share update could be pretty interesting

Yep and if you apply the 80% rule, more than enough to go around. ;)

Reviews will be interesting, if performance is at least as good as AMD posted we might be seeing another step in the heterogeneous architecture era...

More £1000 gpus, can’t wait for these. Not.

I paid £900 for my 6800XT nearly 2 years ago. The difference then was that I was able to sell my previous card for twice the value it had been a few months earlier due to mining inflation. Now there's a lot more outlay to soak up.

I really don't need one, but I have the dreaded itch of upgraditis...

Only time amd sold well with expensive cards was during the pandemic and mining, these will not be as popular as people think at £1000+. That Radeon mind share just ain't there.

I hope you are right, Nvidia still having 4080 and to a lesser extent 4090 stock should be sending a message. We need the same for AMD and while the 7900 XTX looks like good value in comparison to the 4080 and 4090, that’s a really low bar.

It looks like the AIB cards will be the way to go with 79000xtx as 3 x 8 pin and already higher boost clocks over the reference design. Un like the Nvidia 4090fe the AIB's with 7900xtx have a lot more head room for over clocking not being power limited.
AMD have given the AIB market a product they can boost higher and 300mhz standard boost over reference cards is nice to see. Think hard before you jump into a reference design card when the AIB model's could well be 15% to 20% faster when clocked.

Same here. Got two 3080s launch for for MSRP. Flogged them at market peak, ended up waiting a few months and used the money for a 3090 and a new power rack for my gym. That was, however, a once in lifetime surge: we're now looking at stupid baseline MSRP as nV and AMD think the demand baseline has adjusted -- it hasn't.

I'd say hold fast, be a reasonable adult, and wait.

I cant help but think these will just end up like the 4080s. I want AMD to do well and gain marketshare etc, competition is always good but I think the problem could be price and the that the 4090 is better. Yeah they are likely to beat the 4080 but I think if your spending over a grand on a gpu your likely to be wanting the best. If they beat 4080s and are £100-200 cheaper thats good but they are still very likely to lose in ray tracing. If thats the case then I bet a lot of people will still go for the 4080 if not will to stretch for the 4090. Nvidia has marketed ray stracing so the average user thinks they need it. If they don't destroy the 4080 I think we will start to see 4080's sellings.

I really hope I'm wrong though
