AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

Seem to think there was new encode/decode silicone on this gen, Could be completely wrong though
It has AV1 but software like obs is currently in beta for it, AV1 works for Nvidia now because it did release first.

So I'm terms of this aspect it's fine, as long as obs supports it, then it's a non issue

And there's this:

Seems like the gpu/memory is the reason why the power consumption is up.

Not sure why you need ramp up gpu/vram clocks to play a video. It's as if there is no VCN 4.X silicon.
Or is this a driver bug and VCN isn't enabled?? Either way there is no VCN being used.

This is my issue now I was looking forward to the 7900XTX but like someone said above it makes the 4080...Look like it's worth the extra.

If I can get a 4080 for 1200 a d the 7900xtx

Even me as someone who doesnt give a crap about RT id rather pay the extra 100
The 4080 which is really a 4070ti is worth max £700 the XTX on this showing is worth about £600, pay more if you want but don't kid yourself that either of these products are anywhere near value for money.

Price is subjective but I am not sure what some people were expecting versus the leaks.

If you look at the jump from a 6900XT to a 7900XTX in Total War: Warhammer 3, the jump in performance at 4k is stratospheric.
Sorry what review is that what was the performance at what res?

The 6800 doesnt struggle, think ill stick with it for a while. I cant even believe we're at an age whereby a £1000 GPU can look appealing.. Absolute madness.

If Nvidia lowered the 4080 to £999 it would sell out instantly including the AIB cards. Its worth what people are willing to pay for it..

No they haven't, good grief...

Nah really, they have. On par with a 4080, with 3090Ti RT performance. Someone on another forum literally just said "I would consider the 4080 over this" and the 4080 is the worst value card ever.

This compared to the 4080 is worth £800 at best. If the 4080 price is based on cost then the 7900XTX should cost *a lot* less to make and thus should be priced for sale accordingly. Only it's not.

As for fine wine? who cares? by the time the performance improves it won't cost a grand any more, so it's a moot point. I would rather it perform better now when it costs as much as it ever will, and decrease over time as the price decreases.
