AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

It could also be the fact the majority are on 1080P still and there is a growing build in 1440P, 4K is still like 1%.

2K Nvidia GPU's just are not needed.

Give it a minute to see if it's weird scalping but could be that forum echo chambers don't know **** about what the market will buy :p

I have to be honest with performance almost a wash at 4K and £150 delta between a 7900 XTX and a 4080, I would veer towards the 4080 for the RT. Had the 7900 XTX been 15% faster in raster I would be leaning towards it.

It just might be in a year or two once the fine wine kicks in :p

I mean the Overclocking on AIB cards certainly looks promising. Though I think Gibbo said those will cost more, bringing it to 4080 pricing anyway. Just too damned expensive unfortunately.

I'm considering an indirect halo effect.

Nvidia has the best card and you get the halo effect on all the much worse cards under it yes?

Well AMD doesn't have that but what it does have is Ryzen and that has resulted in people packing their computers with high performance AMD cpus.

So when AMD puts out a GPU even if it's not the best one it's still an AMD gpu to go along with the AMD cpu that people already know is very good.

Obviously halo effect is total BS mindgames but it still works on sales.

So, are AMD cpus encouraging people to buy AMD gpus by association, performance be dammed.

I guess that's possible. I certainly have my mind changed since owning rx6800 and Ryzen. I really like the software and have had zero issues.

Last time I checked, because of gibbos good deal for 650 and 2 free games maybe....

Maybe I should have been more specific to, 3080 and above owners.
But they already had the same RT performance. So why pay more!

Anyway yes you really meant it's not an upgrade path for anyone that has a 3080 or greater. (Which is fairly obvious).

But it looks better for you when you use "ampere" instead.

That maybe the case but gibbo had already stated he had not expected anywhere near this demand.

I will look to pick one up next year sometime, especially if drivers improve
You know that’s the kind BS people spins?!

5 sapphire XTX. That’s not even a question of demand. That’s like non-existent stock level.

A 6900xt RT performs similar to a 3070 in RT so they aren't downgrading and we all know that raster is significantly better, after all they're going from a mid tier GPU to flagship tier gpu... And again getting 2 free games and a good chance to sell their 3070 for a decent sum. I doubt you would see many making the switch if the price was 800+.

Where is 5 coming from?
Sapphire XTX MBA we have 500 plus
Sapphire Nitro XTX we had 9

The lot had sold out within 15 minutes. Demand is real, very real.

Just look in the thread, there is way more than 5 stating order shipped on our forum alone. :)

I know why they upgraded from a 3070 to 6900xt. I just wanted you to type it out.

Did everyone list at the same price?

Was $999 = £1049?

edit: Nvm can actually see.

Well it should have been pretty obvious from my post I'm talking about primarily the people who got a 3080 especially for MSRP, 3070 and below owners have plenty of options, even second hand old gen to choose from. Meanwhile what does a 3080 owner have to choose from?
